Product Description

Welding Hastelloy B/NS3201/N10001 Bar/Rod/Wire/Forging/Plate/Strip For High-Performance In Demanding Environments

Hastelloy B (UNS N10001 / NS3201) is a nickel-molybdenum alloy known for its exceptional resistance to hydrochloric acid and other strongly reducing agents. It is particularly effective in environments where other alloys fail due to pitting or stress corrosion cracking. Common forms include bar, rod, wire, forging, plate, and strip, making it versatile for applications in chemical processing, marine environments, and power generation. Hastelloy B offers excellent mechanical strength, formability, and welding characteristics. Its high molybdenum content provides superior corrosion resistance, while its low carbon levels minimize carbide precipitation during welding, preserving corrosion resistance in the heat-affected zone. This alloy is ideal for use in reactors, heat exchangers, and piping systems exposed to aggressive chemicals.

Here are the key features of Hastelloy B (also known as NS3201 or N10001) in various forms such as bar, rod, wire, forging, plate, and strip:

 Key Features of Hastelloy B / NS3201 / N10001:
✅ Excellent Resistance to Reducing Environments
Outstanding resistance to hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperatures.
Resists acetic acid, phosphoric acid, and other strongly reducing chemicals.
✅ High Corrosion Resistance
Exceptional resistance to stress corrosion cracking, especially in environments containing chlorides.
Excellent protection against pitting and crevice corrosion.
✅ Superior Mechanical Properties
Good mechanical strength at both ambient and elevated temperatures.
Can be cold or hot worked to enhance strength and ductility.
✅ Good Fabricability
Easily weldable using standard methods (TIG, MIG, etc.), especially when using filler metals of matching composition.
Suitable for machining, forming, and forging with conventional techniques.
✅ Thermal Stability
Maintains corrosion resistance and structural integrity at elevated temperatures.
Effective in temperature ranges up to around 540°C (1000°F) for many corrosive processes.
✅ Forms and Applications

Available in:

Bar/Rod: For high-strength components
Wire: Used in springs, fasteners, and heating elements
Forging: Custom parts requiring excellent corrosion resistance
Plate/Strip: For linings, process vessels, and structural applications

Hastelloy B (UNS N10001, NS3201) is a nickel-molybdenum alloy known for its exceptional resistance to hydrochloric acid and other strongly reducing agents. It is widely used in aggressive chemical environments where stainless steels or other common alloys may fail.
