NiCr-CuNi Type E Thermocouple Wire Wide High Sensitivity for Precise Measurements in Various Industries
The NiCr-CuNi Type E thermocouple is a high-sensitivity temperature measurement device composed of a Nickel-Chromium (NiCr) positive leg and a Copper-Nickel (CuNi) negative leg. It operates in a wide temperature range from -200°C to +900°C (-328°F to +1652°F), making it especially suitable for cryogenic and low-temperature applications. With an electromotive force (EMF) output of approximately 68 µV/°C, it is the most sensitive of standard thermocouples.
Type E thermocouples are stable and reliable in oxidizing or inert atmospheres but are not recommended for reducing or sulfur-rich environments due to potential degradation. Their high sensitivity makes them ideal for precision measurements in industrial processes, laboratory setups, and cryogenic systems. Although less versatile than Type K thermocouples for high-temperature work, Type E is preferred for applications requiring accurate readings in low to medium temperature ranges.
