Product Description

Inconel Alloy 625/N06625/2.4856/NS 3306 For Welding Machine Chemical Processing Equipment

Inconel 625 is a versatile superalloy designed for use in severe environments, including high-temperature applications and corrosive chemical processes. It is precipitation-hardenable, which means its mechanical properties can be enhanced through a specific heat treatment process.

Inconel 625 maintains its strength at elevated temperatures, suitable for use in environments up to 2000°F (1093°C).The alloy exhibits excellent resistance to a wide range of corrosive media, including seawater, acidic, and alkaline solutions. It has good weldability and retains its corrosion resistance after welding. The alloy can be easily formed, machined, and fabricated using standard methods. Through aging heat treatment, Inconel 625 can achieve high tensile and yield strengths.

Key Features:

Superior Corrosion and Oxidation Resistance:

  • Excellent resistance to oxidation, carburization, and a wide range of corrosive environments, including seawater, chemicals, and acidic gases.
  • Exceptional resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments.
  • Forms a stable, protective oxide layer that provides resistance to oxidation at high temperatures (up to 980°C or 1800°F).

High-Temperature Strength:

  • Excellent strength and stability at high temperatures, including resistance to creep and thermal fatigue.
  • Retains high tensile, fatigue, and rupture strength even at elevated temperatures, making it ideal for high-temperature industrial applications.

Workability:

  • Weldability: Inconel 625 has excellent weldability and can be welded using most standard processes, including TIG, MIG, and gas welding, without requiring preheating.
  • It can be easily cold-formed and hot-worked, making it versatile for a variety of applications.

Niobium and Molybdenum:

  • The alloy’s niobium content stabilizes the alloy, improving its strength and resistance to corrosion, particularly in environments that would degrade other materials.
  • Molybdenum enhances its resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-rich environments, such as seawater.

Fatigue and Thermal Fatigue Resistance:

  • Outstanding resistance to both fatigue and thermal fatigue. This makes it particularly useful in cyclically loaded applications where high temperatures and aggressive environments are factors.

Applications:

  • Chemical Processing: Used in chemical processing equipment, heat exchangers, and valves for its resistance to corrosive chemicals.
  • Power Generation: Employed in gas turbines, steam turbines, and other components within the power generation industry.
  • Aerospace Industry: Utilized in aircraft engines, exhaust systems, and other high-temperature components.
  • Marine Applications: Suitable for marine environments due to its resistance to seawater corrosion.
  • Oil and Gas Industry: Used in downhole drilling equipment and offshore platforms for its strength and corrosion resistance.
  • Automotive Industry: Employed in high-performance exhaust systems and other high-temperature components.

Inconel 625 alloy's combination of high-temperature strength, corrosion resistance, and good fabricability makes it a popular choice for demanding applications across a wide range of industries. Its performance in extreme environments has led to its widespread use for components that require a balance of strength and resistance to corrosion.
